Trombone Ensembles

Trombone Choir is an ensemble type rapidly growing in popularity. The range, warm tone and surprising flexibility of the trombone makes it feel like the brass equivalent of a traditional vocal choir but backed by tremendous power. TROMBOVERTURE

Tromboverture is celebration of the trombone choir. Beginning with a lively and joyous motif, it dances among the players. Transitioning to the middle segment, a grand melody emerges, evoking strength and confidence. The concluding section merges the earlier themes, culminating in a vibrant and triumphant finale!

Simple Gifts

An arrangement of Simple Gifts originally commissioned by a sackbut octet. This piece is a bit of a blend of renaissance style with some modern sensibilities and a cheeky reference or two. It is split into choirs A and B, playable by tenor and bass sackbuts or by modern trombones.

Gustav Mahler

A brilliant and groundbreaking symphony now brought to the glory of a full armada of trombones! This arrangement starts towards the end of the final movement around measure 472 in the original score, the Langsam. Misterioso. Best played by a LARGE choir.

Symphony No. 5 mvm. IV, Op. 64
Pyotr Ilych Tchaikovsky

The final movement of Tchaikovsky's brilliant 5th symphony as arranged for a large trombone ensemble! This arrangement is very demanding both technically and on the chops, but should prove to be an excellent crowd pleaser.

This symphony is a staple of orchestral literature and one of the most iconic pieces of classical music in existence! This arrangement features all 4 movements, a number of solo opportunities, and the use of multiple different types of mutes to achieve a wide range of colors.
